A recent job I had, Product kept saying this over 2ish years...

...at the end of the stint and with ~2 weeks until launch, they laid off all but one person on the team (some 12 engineers or so, myself included).

I often wonder how much shit that person is wading through leading up to launch and post-launch fighting fires.

From another article...

On July 5, as floodwaters were starting to recede, FEMA received 3,027 calls from disaster survivors and answered 3,018, or roughly 99.7%, the documents show. Contractors with four call center companies answered the vast majority of the calls.

That evening, however, Noem did not renew the contracts with the four companies and hundreds of contractors were fired, according to the documents and the person briefed on the matter.

The next day, July 6, FEMA received 2,363 calls and answered 846, or roughly 35.8%, according to the documents. And on Monday, July 7, the agency fielded 16,419 calls and answered 2,613, or around 15.9%, the documents show.

So, yeah, this will not end well for anyone except billionaires who we, the people, should be at war with.

This makes me angry at that man and I'm sorry you have to deal with shit like this.

I really hope these people I knew of who purposely moved to Texas to support Texas politics lost their home. 🤞

Is that mean of me? No, these people constantly voted for things that hurt or even killed people around me. They pushed beliefs that actively harm other people. I would have zero remorse if my wishful thinking came true.

As for what we do next, I wish my state would stop paying federal taxes.

The problem is LLM use will become de facto standard to get by, and then the corporations that own them will cater output to drive sociopolitical change (for the worse).

It isn't the focus of the movie and as such, wasn't the focus of the movie. So, yeah, I guess?

I 100% expected this movie to suck and was even saying up to its release that it would flop.

I've seen all the Superman movies since the 80s. And all the TV shows.

This is my favorite movie.

Feel free to message me, maybe I can help. I create web apps and other tools for companies as a career, so the only caveat is that I'm pretty booked right now so my ability to take it on would really depend on the complexity.

I worked for a company that had Play-Doh, pipe cleaners, scratch pads, and colored pencils for meetings like this. Could you bring things like that?

I fidgeted and made all sorts of stupid things with it, but it worked.

I know this is the case in Oregon (where I live), but is it true in every state?

Can I create a non-profit that continues this but allows contributors tax deductions?

Frankly, if the government isn't going to do something they can and should, and I am, then I feel everyone should get a charitable deduction for it because fuck paying taxes to this current admin.
