Uugh. That's so dumb. Insurance companies simply wouldn't cover them...but that wouldn't stop those companies from employing children. Especially if conservatives are dismantling work place safety regulations at the same time.
MAGA did it with enormous amounts of money, coming from billionaires with a plan. That's the difference. The MAGA movement sprang out of the Tea Party, which was an astroturfed takeover by the Koch brothers and their circle of investors.
The US progressive movement is a legitimate grassroots movement. You can't expect them all to be "on-brand", when they aren't all getting paid to read from the same script.
Do you know HOW MAGA took over the Republican party? They went out and did rallies. They campaigned in working class areas. They did town halls. They went on podcasts. They used social media. And most importantly, they ran primary challenges against Republican incumbents who didn't get in line with their messaging.
So, what are progressives doing? They're doing exactly what MAGA did, to take over the Republican party.
