It's been too long for me to know for sure. Could have been my wife wasn't into it and at the time if I didn't watch stuff with her I didn't watch stuff at all. Now she has a few hobbies so I have a little time to watch stuff where I'm not doing other things so I'll give it another go.
I've been thinking of giving it another go. I'll add it to my list now before I forget.
Love Rami Malik. I've never been able to get through the show but I love his character in it.
Used the old workflow for this which is just copying from the source. It's more like paint by numbers without the numbers. Cathartic for me.

Oh I see what you mean. That's totally what I did with the pencil. I'll keep an eye on that next time!
The book Lies My Teacher Told Me by James W. Loewen goes a long way to accomplish this. At least it did for me.

As for the scatter brush I used a pencil brush and lightly shaded to try and give the illusion of detail without painting every single branch. Without zooming in it feels like I did that to me but I'm also the one painting it. Still trying to figure out how to paint trees.... They're so hard.
Same source image. This was the first "real" thing from reference I tried to paint since the mid 90s. I figured after a year I'd try again and see how I've progressed. What do you think?

I took these after painting, my mom took a bunch too. She's a huge photo nerd, I'm just trying to keep up.
My mom and a friend went painting with me. We had a blast! I'm much happier with this result than the last one. I still need to get better at trees but I'm getting there.

Silksong is an epic game! I couldn't get into the first game for whatever reason but I just can't get enough this time around. After I beat it I'm going back to the first one and give it a go again.

I use a transparent card to help me with box measurements that has little black lines. The models dress was black with a black background. I winged it and failed completely.

Used a skydiving reference for this. I think it turned out pretty good.
