I only heard about AdNauseum because of this whole debacle. It blocks ads, hasn't temporarily broken (as far as I have seen), and I set it to "click" 80% of all ads it sees.
I have probably screwed whatever profile they built on me, cost the ad buyers money bc clicks, hurt the conversion rate for purchases to cost google money, and even possibly made money for my favorite creators and sites (depending on how they're paid).
Though someone lmk if I am misunderstanding something about it.
I'm sure it is entirely coincidental that the call to action is to restrict/control the free open-source software, and leaves Google and Microsoft safely in control with their curated models.
This is just like the time the US made websites responsible for their users' content, and coincidentally made it much more legally dangerous to start your own social media platform.
But sure, I mean, just think of the (imaginary) children! We need to stop this theoretical abuse of imaginary children by passing laws that make it harder for any AI not created by a tech giant to operate.

I strongly recommend A Practical Guide to Evil. Strong female MC, character growth and change, strong supporting case with their own ocassional POV chapters, and a fascinating world. Also, it is a web serial, so zero dollars to read it.
I also have to second the post that said Gideon the Ninth. I'd specifically point you to the audiobook, as it is one of only 2 books where the audiobook felt better than the paper one to me.
