Sometimes I’ll see on the list something it says is there and indignantly think to myself, ‘no way, I’d have seen/heard that’ only to turn around and see exactly what it said was there. And sometimes it gets fooled, usually by squeaky things and sometimes by mockingbirds.

It’s definitely still extremely cool. I really wish I’d had tech like this when I was a kid interested in birds and had nobody to teach me anything more advanced than backyard birds, and no way of figuring out what all the bird song mnemonics in guide books actually sounded like.

Yeah, getting published in Nature is a career gold star achievement. They’re very high impact (meaning many other scientific papers cite their articles).

I don’t think so? Dude looks like he’d be a WASP if he wasn’t Catholic. Unless he was doing some internet sock puppet shenanigans or something.

Yup, even Cruz voted against it. Reality is truly stranger than fiction.

I thought the 1 vote had to be ~~the Zodiac killer~~ Ted Cruz, but no:

The one vote backing moratorium on state AI laws came from Thom Tillis, not Cruz.

Did he just not get the memo, or is he that paid off?

DEI hire just means people who weren’t white were working there. No need to parrot their spin.

Same. The 90s tried to kill me, the more time put between me and it the better.

I’m pretty sure it was because red stripes make it go faster.

A 45% cut is insane when they barely ran to begin with. So is $2.90 for less frequent service. This fucking sucks all around, both in the moment and for all the effects it’s going to have downstream.

Except you have no evidence any of that is happening here. You know he was a Cuban immigrant who has been here since he was 15 and made up the rest.

Why am I having to be in this thread explaining that collective guilt and blaming children for where they were born is deranged?

You can voluntarily renounce your citizenship at an embassy, if you weren’t aware of the option. I wouldn’t do it without citizenship somewhere else, because being stateless isn't great.

Congrats on getting out, either way!

Si no tuviera la ciudadanía, no podría haber votado.
