I'm not defending whoever...greenlit this design. But you must admit it's got a way of...abducting attention

practical how? Not doubting, just curious what you meant

In photography, painting, and other visual arts, middle gray or middle grey is a tone that is perceptually about halfway between black and white on a lightness scale; in photography and printing, it is typically defined as 18% reflectance in visible light.

It can seem like a specific area of interest to be sure, but Žižek spearheads a much wider influence of mainstream ideas than most would expect. If you stick around for a few posts, I'd wager you will soon be surprised at how familiar some of his concepts will feel to you. He is essentially a sellout at this point, but I will take all the luck I can get!🫡

Insanely cool–thanks! I will hopefully see what you see in a dream one day

Surprisingly a lot less confusing than you'd think. Although I don't have any type of synesthesia tbh–I'd love to see the most familiar image with something resembling what you're describing honestly. Sounds amazing

Hashima Island (端島; or simply Hashima, as -shima is a Japanese suffix for 'island'), commonly called Gunkanjima (軍艦島; meaning 'Battleship Island'), is an abandoned island off Nagasaki, lying about 15 kilometres (8 nautical miles) from the centre of the city. It is one of 505 uninhabited islands in Nagasaki Prefecture. The island's most notable features are its abandoned concrete buildings, undisturbed except by nature, and the surrounding seawall. While the island is a symbol of the rapid industrialisation of Japan, it is also a reminder of Japanese war crimes as a site of forced labour prior to and during World War II.

The Danakil Depression is the hottest place on Earth in terms of year-round average temperatures. It is also one of the lowest places on the planet at 100 metres (330 ft) below sea level, and without rain for most of the year.

It features several endorheic and saline lakes, such as Lake Afdera, Lake Karum, and Lake Bakili that sit on volcano-tectonic depressions.

Cyclone Tracy was a small but destructive tropical cyclone that devastated the city of Darwin, in the Northern Territory of Australia, in December 1974. The small but developing easterly storm was originally expected to pass clear of the city, but it turned towards it early on 24 December. After 10:00 p.m. ACST, damage became severe, with wind gusts reaching 217 km/h (117 kn; 135 mph) before instruments failed. The anemometer in Darwin Airport control tower had its needle bent in half by the strength of the gusts.

The Great Blue Hole is a large marine sinkhole off the coast of Belize. It lies near the center of Lighthouse Reef, a small atoll 70 km (43 mi) from the mainland and Belize City. The hole is circular in shape, 318 m (1,043 ft) across and 124 m (407 ft) deep. It has a surface area of 70,650 square metres (760,500 sq ft). It was formed during several phases of the Quaternary glaciation when sea levels were much lower.
