That's not true at all. They've always been building them in parallel. Did they shift some of the devs to get the final push to finish SQ42? Recently? Yes. Was it the majority of the devs working on SC? No.

Decreasing inheritors keeps the money more concentrated, which keeps it in the family longer. The more quickly it's diluted, the faster that wealth power fades.

Having a couple people coming up with ideas for the game while the rest of the team works on a different game is not the same as being in full development that entire time, like Star citizen has

This money is technically funding the development of 2 games. And the construction of multiple studio sites

DNF was only released after the original studio went bankrupt, has it's IP and assets bought up, and the new owners spent 6 months cobbling together whatever was there to just push out the door to recoup some of the cost.
