You can also add farside.link/ before the search URL and it will direct you to a random searxng instance. Also using it on some sites like youtube will redirect you to a privacy respecting front-end alternative.

In ublock origin settings. There is an "annoyances" group with options. It should take care of most of those popups.

Pipepipe is an amazing newpipe fork(which is a youtube client) that constantly recieves updates and is stable and relaible.I didn't see much love for this app anywhere so thought i should promote it. in c/fdroid@lemmy.ml
