Lemmy is really growing on me as I can see there's discussion when it comes to the current events, I like to read real opinions and viewpoints on from others outside of my bubble, reddit and X both are too bot riddled for me to personally for that use. I still do go on reddit often for local content as it's a better source of upcoming events and whats going on around the city than the actual local news agencies.

Thankfully the generals in the National Guard are listening to the courts, unlike the politicial side of government. I'm sure many of them realize they are the true last stand to keeping things civil as a country when the federal government appears to want to overthrow local elected officials in states it doesn't like. We are in unprecedented waters with every move these fools in power attempt

With the way things spread on social media from user generated content it would be hard to get that done I'm sure. Like the video almost everyone saw of Charlie, the video was indeed real but the spread was so beyond control that ot broke almost every filter algorithm on social media. I can't imagine how much "suppression" talk would be mentioned if we had digitally sign the source even though it would be totally valid. [Viral > Truth]

This has to be what trump is seeing over on Truth Social that's got him thinking cities are burning from protests, or at least that could be what his advisors are showing

Where I lived, the liquor stores were run by the state and were shut down during early COVID for pickup only via online orders. Those two days leading up to it had some of the longest lines I’ve ever seen that weren’t for a sporting event.

Clearly he's never done a normal person thing like grocery shop. Costco beef stew meat went from $5.40/lb to now $8.45/lb in a year looking at an old receipt in the app. Steaks are pretty much out of budget for most people nowadays, doubled in price.

Yup they are currently unpaid. Unsure about bonuses since they make a decent amount in that.

This is what concerns me about this whole thing, its like it's to break morale of all the government workers to either leave or become so desperate to keep their job and pay that some may be willing to do anything in those specific roles they're targeting.
