So im in a almost weekly dnd 5e group but i feel like i need something more to do in my personal time. Im considering trying solo but im used to being in a group and not by myself, and i feel like i cant get creative enough to play solo.

I recently found a book (as seen in image above) and im not sure if i should try it or if there are better solutions?

What would you advise?

I mostly play single player but it would help if i could play like runescape or fortnight on it. I also like messing with ai a little so ollama is a optional bonus. I play a mix of games but most of what i got is rogue likes but im looking to try more games. I want the laptop to be 64 bit and portable, my main focus is performance and battery life. I may be asking too much? I got 600 dollars but most of it has to go towards parents bills and such, i get paid by the government for being autistic. Im not sure how to make my own money but i hope to slowly save up.

I already have a semi-gaming desktop but i need something more portable to go with on the go. Im wondering what the cheapest laptop for games and general use is, and where to find it at? I like amd because its usually cheaper or better than NVIDIA in some cases.

please also include the price. I would prefer to buy 2nd hand or refurbished to save on costs if i even do get the money for a better laptop.

Im sure you got your hopes up but its a bummer it never actually happened.

Just another one of those questions that have been on my mind. I want to know what its like to be in a competitive game competition and if its worth it. Theres no way ill even be in 1 because they look hard and im a casual gamer.

I suppose that could work i usually just play single player games so im not use to talking but im sure i can figure something out.

I like gaming and watching youtube but those are not helpful skills i have?

Like i want to do something where i am my own boss, i make my own time. Im just not sure how possible something like that would be or if its a good idea, Im even sure what i could do to be self employed. I tend to dream big and this may be one of those dreams. I just feel limited on what i can do, Like im too afraid to drive and im stuck at home because i have to look after parents and such. I dont even know how to make a actual resume.

I switched to catchyos not too long ago but i also want to get into gamedev im just not sure which engine to go with? I looked in scratch but i find it annoying (visual scripting). Im not sure if i should try godot or some other engine now. Im also not sure where to post at sense itch has become questionable, i also want to try game jams aswell.

I feel like a total loser maybe because of hormones or possibility that ive done nothing my whole like. Ive had some interest/ideas on what to do but all of them are complex and im not sure how to start simple. I want to make games but it requires coding, art, a cool idea, and more but i stink at all those stuff and im impatient for some reason. Its like i want life to be easy but its not. The only think ive pushed thru is dnd, i like it depending on the group, but right now i feel burned out and numb. I just need something for my personal life. It would help if i could do it from a computer because thats what i have or for free.

Ive seen some youtube videos about people who start with very little money and do stuff to double it. Im wondering what a everyday joe would do with 1 dollar and 24 hours to earn more? Would you resell water bottles to people, get a job, gamble? or something else? what is your game plan?

Reddit is just a mess and very toxic expectantly sense it wont allow me to login anymore. Some of the worst places that were mostly non-nsfw were teen subs and sidheuste subs from what i experienced.

I just like lemmy better and the community, lemmy also offer more freedom without the need for a karma requirement to post.

I know im young and stuff but i feel lost like i have no sense of what i want to do now or later. How did you decide what to do with your life? What free wisdom can you share?

I believe i mostly like little hand tools or anything that could be useful. Im pretty new to the world of 3d printing i would say.

How do you decide what to print and what sites do you use to find free files? Im having a hard time finding 3d prints and the harder part is picking a file i like.

Have you used peertube, how good is it?

Im not sure if this goes here like a major amount of my posts. Im looking for a alternative to youtube for beginners who just want to be apart of the community in a old school youtube perspective but not too old that it feels outdated. I sadly created a movie recap just to see how hard it was, it took me almost 2 hours just to slice and remove parts of the movie only to get a copyright warning by youtube. I mostly just blame my newbie editing skills, but is there a alternative to youtube that allows me to post videos youtube dosent want me to?

If you want to see my horrible cliche recap here it is. Be warned its not great and it has one of those text to speech voiceovers and such. I feel like i worked hard but at the same time i may have made slop. (please dont steal)

Big movie recap

Im 19 and for years my mother has been telling me to use codecademy but most of its locked behind a paywall. Have any of you used this site, what are your thoughts on it? Are there better totally free alternatives that walk you thru everything?

Someday i want to make games or something like that but im unsure what programming language to choose. I like the look of lua but im not sure if i should go with it or what projects to learn from? Everyone here tells me if i i choose to go with gamedev someday, to pick up godot but i feel im not ready to make games and that i need to start learning the basics.

You know how games use to come on a dvd or a big brick called a cartridge... Can i do something like that but in modern day. I have a bunch of blank dvd and cds collecting dust and linux os's but could i put game son them on installers and give them some cool art? Is there a better way to do this? This would also be for personal use cases.

Im just not sure how well save files would be handled, or if this is worth doing.

What about moding, texture packs, i wanted to try those but does said drasl support theses?

I like money topics but im no expert and people say its sad to have money as a hobby. I also really like computers but atlast i cant code, or do any sort of art. I did take a art class when i used to got to school but i never got anywhere. I tend to want the simple ways of life instead of just doing something which really bugs me. Like i use ai tools way too much instead o just doing something in terms of daily random questions i have. Ive really wanted to make a youtube channel but i struggle with ideas and starting very badly.

Sorry if i ranted a bit.

Ive thought about just doing a case swap and upgrading what i can but that dosent really seem worth doing. Also yes what i mostly have is optiplex-like systems. I have found some with a i7 on the other hand, the best machine i found came with a i7 and a 4vram nvidia card. Im mostly lost on what online marketplaces to list on.
