Stopped what shit? At the end of the day, what did it accomplish? Cops still kill black people, and most face very little repercussions.

In the words of Bo Burnham, "We all deserve love; even on the days when we're not our best; cuz we all suck, but love can make us suck less"

You shouldn't seek a relationship just to fix yourself, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't seek a relationship. I think you're being too hard on yourself.

You are not as broken as you think you are.

Lack of job protection

Lack of healthcare protection

Inability to miss or reduce even a single paycheck due to cost of living

It's winter, and most major cities North of Texas have had below freezing temps with brutal wind chill for the past several weeks

The recognition that no protest in the last 20 years has accomplished anything in the US.

Put that all together, and is it any surprise people aren't protesting?

Also a lot of people between 110 and 150, so I'm sure there is a larger answer.

However, Social Security cuts off at 115, and they supposedly found like 10 million people older than that. Considering there are only ~50m people on Social Security, and the database they were searching wasn't even about current recipients, most people would conclude that there is likely an error in data, rather than immediately jump to fraud. Of course, ketamine is a hell of a drug and Elon is not most people.

Nah, this is crazier. Ignore the DEI angle and this is a state suing a company for the crime of not being profitable. That's way more out of the norm than a racist gunman shooting people because he's racist.

I don't think that comparison works since, according to Disney, Ariel is clearly black.

It's absolutely the case here. It's the retailers buying from them that have to pay the tariffs, not the manufacturer. So they're not increasing costs to make up for the tariffs, they're just increasing costs that retailers will have to pay ON TOP OF the extra they're already having to pay for the tariffs.

Its like a company trying to justify increasing the cost of their goods just because the sales tax on their goods went up. The company's profits are unchanged by the tax increase, it's just the consumer who's getting screwed twice.

Early in my engineering career, I was told that a screw hole on a part needed to be increased one size. Not knowing any better, I increased the size but made the thread count the same. Little did I know that the machine shop head had recently gotten unfairly grilled by management about following engineering drawings to a T, and had adopted an attitude of malicious compliance. So rather than reach out to engineering to check if they really needed this obscure thread size, he instead just went ahead and purchased a new $7000 threading tool for that size that would never be used again.

I learned a lot that day about common fastener sizes and to always be nice to the machine shop head.

So many words just to say "I'm a fascist piece of shit"

Was it ever explained what Scar did to ruin everything? Like, was it overhunting, or mismanagement of resources? Like when Simba came back, everything was a wasteland. Then after overthrowing Scar it rained like once and everything was fine again.

Hey you're right, there isn't a statute specifically about U-Haul crime! Of course, most people would recognize that the laws concerning the transportation of people without seats or seatbelts applies to ALL vehicles and only a completely disingenuous fuckwit would focus on the U-Haul part.

Another thing that only a disingenuous fuckwit would do is try to equate literal, flag-waving Nazis specifically trying to incite hatred and fear towards minorities with all other public gatherings. And pretty much all the examples you gave have a history of police breaking them up for precisely the reasons I listed, but the cops didn't lift a finger here.

I don't type this for you, because you already know you're full of shit. I type this for anyone who reads the slop you drooled out onto the keyboard, pretending like you have a point instead of just being a worthless waste of oxygen.

I bought Black Flag a few years ago during a steam sale because I heard it was good, but never got around to playing it.

Last week I decided to finally give it a try. Got it downloaded, only to be asked to sign in with my UPlay account. Ok, pain in the ass, but whatever. Got my password reset and entered it in and then... Nothing. Login window closes, game does not launch.

I scoured the internet looking for a solution and found a ton of people with the same issue. I also found many reported "fixes" that did not work for me, nor for anyone else judging by the numerous replies to each of them saying the "fixes" did nothing.

So cool, and since I bought it years ago, it's not like I can refund it. Guess I bought a game I won't ever be able to play unless I decide to pirate it. Ironic. Thanks Ubisoft!

Is it just a matter of not being worth it? I see cooling towers releasing what appears to be a ton of steam, pretty high up. If that steam were captured at the top and allowed to condense, wouldn't that result in a ton of water with a lot of gravitational potential energy? That water could then be released and used to power water turbines. Maybe I'm overestimating the amount of water being released as steam, or underestimating how much is needed to spin a water turbine to get a meaningful result, but it seems like wasted energy to me.

I'm moving across the country in a few weeks and am trying to plan my route as I'll be driving a moving van with a car towed behind it. The entire drive will be 16-17 hours.

Google maps seems limited for searching everything I'd want to take into account for the route (pull through gas stations, height requirements, avoiding mountain highways, etc.) and was wondering if anyone knew of a better way to plan out the trip?
