we need a federated review system that's not connected to any particular site or company, I believe that's the only good way to avoid such things

can you elaborate ? not saying you're wrong, just want to understand what you mean.

is the bug with "active" sorting fixed ?

nice, I really like the new UI changes!

have you considered redirecting to whoogle or searx ? you can use farside.link which automatically redirects to a working instance. it would be helpful for people who want to avoid using Google

I usually don't see lemmy on search engines, sadly.

last time I tried signing up, I couldn't find a good instance

the upvotes/downvotes also filter out a lot of noise, mastodon doesn't have that

isn't this a fork of NQ-RARBG that was posted here earlier ? so which one is actually better ?

libgen, zlibrary, annas archive all of them are good and have books in PDF format but if you don't mind me asking, what's wrong with EPUB ?

for books, IRC is a very good source. you can use use this guide to download stuff just make sure to use hexchat instead of mIRC. I see you didn't include links for mobile apps, some good ones are, moddedcentral on telegram, mobilism and filecr (also has PC apps), 4pda is also good if you can manage to make an account there 😅
