Definitely also agree on YouTube. I was thinking though, I never ever use tumblr's search, because it doesn't work at all. I've tried to search for specific posts, and it just does not work. That's part of the fun of tumblr though.

I was thinking more in the way that your search results will always be curated to you, probably even before you watch any videos, even if it's just by your ip address or where you live

You can most likely add a CSS rule to the userchrome.css to hide it
