If you make a good effort to identify, locate, and contact copyright holders, but the path runs cold, can you disregard copyright? Maybe by claiming fair use or lack of traceable copyright?
Trademark requires active use. I don't believe there's such a thing for copyright. Are there limits other than regular fair use and documented year expiration?
I was irritated by this statement too, but the sentence continues with "but only if it looks like Robocop".
I don't know about the Robocop reference, but the author seems to agree that it's merely pseudo futuristic. IMO in the worst, most absurd way possible.

They have an interesting concept. I would have liked more info on who's behind it, to assess expertise, and how they identify issues to patch. Only public CVE? Are those always fixable with micro patches?
Bad-ass means the opposite. Does this mean it's not arcade or a bad-ass arcade category implementation? I assume they mean the latter. It just doesn't make sense.
The harasement from the hyperland project got so bad they are banned from FreeDesktop.org and I’ve seen how many talented people gave up on working on the Linux ecosystem because of that.

It may depend on the country and state, but with a lack of heirs, it likely goes to the state like all other possessions. I'm no expert on this, though.
