What I have seen is that if you get in with local car clubs, you can get autox runs for not much money. If you don't mind dirt, rallyx or dirtx days are also a good way to get track time on a budget.

Yes, proper track days on a real circuit are expensive but when you look at the consumables like tires, brakes, oil, etc, the entry fee is minimal compared to the actual cost. Even when I had my mini, it was like that. It also really depends on the track. In Houston we have MSR and Grandsport, msr is pricey. Grandsport used to be rented for the day for like $2k and split between 10 or 15 people, that was cheaper than a speeding ticket.

Realistically, the street racing that occurs around me is all drag style highway blasts or streetlight races. None of these douches are doing circuit drives. So the $20 number wasn't far off (at least it was before Royal Purple was shut down)

The problem of tracks getting closed is a major one. Nimby ruins it for everyone. The "racers" are also still to blame here. Its impulse control, and personal responsibility/accountability. Realistically too, a speeding ticket here is $150 minimum, plus court fees of $150ish, plus defensive driving course of $100ish so you are basically to the $500 figure anyways.

This is cool as hell. I have some reading to do but something like this would be awesome if you can buy/make ip67+ rated communcators.

Yes. Its risky for everyone nearby, there is literally no upside. If you want to race, take it to a track. Every track I have been to has some kind of open track night for like $20 entry and you get santioned racing with proper facilities and a safety crew on standby. Its moronic to do it anywhere else.

Im using emby now for my main media hosing program but I don't really like it or plex for music. On my mobile I use GoneMad but it doesn't sync on its own.

Does plex pull the playlist data and still stream the music or does it actually make a duplicate copy of the music files on your phone?

I kind of treat my phone as a pseudo backup of my pictures and music so I keep a full local copy on it.

Picard works well, I played around with it but it is still a bit tedious.

Right? Have you seen reality lately?!

Do you do an automatic sync or manual drag and drop?

I use syncthing for my pictures from my phone to my server and I keep saying I will do the opposite for my music but I have not gotten it organized/tagged well enough yet and I keep putting it off.

The telling thing about these kind of questions isn't so much how much does a mega yacht cost or something but its that those are the things people are picking out because they are visible.

The invisible stuff or the things that go along with these huge purchases are often times not that far off in price from the initial purchase.

The stone slabs in these mega house kitchens cost as much as some houses, the earrings bought and worn once at an event could pay for your whole family to go to college, the custom shoes they wear have their own rooms and cost as much as a car.

What do you think the electric bill for a 20,000 sqft house is? Do you think the owner cares what that impact is monetarily or on the climate? If they do solar, how much do you think that setup cost? Do you think the morality of these purchases ever crosses their minds?

I grew up wanting a fast car and lots of powersports toys, now that I am in a position to afford some (small amount) of that, I find myself thinking more that its not right to spend on those kind of activities now due to the impact on the environment. I am leaning more and more towards becoming a vegetarian because of how the food industry impacts the lives of the people and animals it uses. Do the mega wealthy or even the top 30% think about that when they spend their money? Completely ignoring the aspect of how they got their money which is a whole other thing in and of itself.

It's already happened, and it continues happening.

Some of the worst people I have ever worked with are engineers who went on to get MBAs. They often can do neither business or engineering but are thrilled to lecture you about both.

I think I may have accidentally pushed some secret combo to set the android system navigation bar and notification bar to auto hide but I can't find that anywhere in the system settings on Jerboa or Android. Anyone run into this before?

I was tired of living in darkness. I am excited about the bigger space but sad that I have to start over on my new garage after having my old one just right.

My 7 month son got croup and has been in an out of the ER twice this week. Its currently midnight and is getting another nebulizer dose before we get moved to a room. Hes doing better but its been rough. We are gonna be here at least another day for observation this time which is way better than getting sent home again to see how he does. Here's hoping he kicks its ass and gets over this quick. It sucks seeing my little guy sick like this.

Edit: he's doing a lot better today. They were doing the nebulizer every two hours and its been almost 7 without it now. Fingers crossed we are over the hump. Thanks for the support y'all.
