Im all for piracy, but cant OP make it kinda obvious at least instead of scaring away New users by making it look like Linux is way too hard

Also, there are like thousands of threads about this already on other Forums made for piracy, and its still the same: download steam or Heroic, add New game, select the exe, and play

You install steam. You install tekken through steam. Its not that hard.

TL;DR

Stroads have the speed limit of a normal road (80-100 km/h) with the turn opportunities of a street road you normally go 20 km/h on, and the lanes and usual capacity of a highway

In other words: Every person on there drives with 80 for a minute or 2, then has to change lanes about 4 times in order to get to the street they want to go to, slow down to 10 km/h, and exit. All that while there are 2 cars just speeding up in front of you, 4 in the lane behind you going 80, and 3 others blocking you in.

Make that with 50 cars, asynchronous and an exit every 100 meters, and you see the problem

Ps: Neotori is less expensive and still about the same quality

Its my experience with server software for beginners in general, which gets my enshittification senses tingling. I just dont trust in a company providing a hell of a service (like, getting tens if not hundreds of docker images to work with the click of a button) for free.

With Truenas I know that their community branch is an ad for their enterprise service because no single person will key thousands for the caliber of support their enterprise has, so they make their money by offering cloud services. So that explains how it is still feasable for them to give me their dataset and UI and everything frontend for free.

But with Casa, I just dont know where the money comes from. I dont see how they can keep up their operations and make a profit with this kind of effort. So I can only assume that many non essential services will be put behind a paywall.

And if they do it, I still know that they use docker and ZFS, and I can spend a day or 2 learning how to set up a software raid and an ssd as a ZFS buffer for it, and everything else i‘ve set up with their OS.

But thats the problem: Beginners dont know. Its like with the Iphone: If the user dosent learn how to deploy a docker instance from a compose file themselves, they will be bound to that frontend and all the enshittification that happens to it.

Therefore I would like it way more if Selfhosting was more like the AUR. First learn how the Process of pulling an image and makepkg‘ing works firsthand, then you can use the frontend like yay. Not the other way around.

But if no one learns how to do something the old fashioned way and relies on a frontend for everything, at some point the company behind the frontend will vendor lock everyone into their system, since there is no competition anyway

  1. It is a For-profit without any means of Generating income (unlike Truenas or Suse which have a paid enterprise version)
  2. Since there is no way of making money, it is apparent they will pull a Plex and Enshittify once they have the noobs on board
  3. At least it uses docker, so you can export the images, but who knows when this will change
  4. It uses discord as forum. They cant even get themselves to use their own OS to install a matrix server on there.
  5. They are not even Private. Their FAQ literally says „They will try to limit data collection“

You want to use some shitty OS by some shitty company? Go sign your soul to Windows Server you lobotomite

Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Welp

If copyright isnt protecting, piracy isnt infringing on it.

But if you need to pay for a „Media Flatrate“ anyway, and you have those 5€ a month, why not spend it for a good cause?

(Also PIA and nord cost 12€ a month unless you sign their predatory 2 year contracts [which are even then just like 1€ per month cheaper], so mullvad is just way better in that regard too)

Also features like UDPoTCP let you bypass local network restrictions, and the ability to pay with cash and Crypto is great if you dont want want to/ cant use paypal or a bank account for any reason

Because of fucking course there is

Were talking about Jesusland after all

Im noticing that myself, thank you.

Title says it all

Like, do snakes even know youre their friend? From the people ive seen, they are still trying to kill you and wrap themselves around your neck, so why do people still keep them and talk to them as pets?

My guinea pig still sometimes runs away from me, but she at least likes me and and my voice and just stops eating if I dont speak to her every day to the point that I needed to force feed her nutrient slop, she lets me cuddle her, etc

And snakes are just like: I will kill you the second I see you

Even if it wasnt spam, AI generated pics of trump are enough of a reason for me

Weve all seen it, Lemmy is full of new accounts that just created their acc a few weeks ago. Is this a new exodus or something?

Given that this is the only reason Israel and the US is Bombing them is this just makes them look even more like clowns, given that the US has the strongest Military, and with the UN they could have just… like gone in with a humvee and watched them more closely for a few months, and maybe destroyed anything looking like a bomb.

That would have solved the whole „Bombing“ Thing.

I hear it every time: But Muh Windows is better, because you dont have to install Drivers!!!11!11elf

And every time I have to force myself to tell them that its even Easier to install drivers on Linux, because you dont even need to know if you have an AMD or an Nvidia Card, you just open the Software and click on the recommended install

Im cirrently on Tier 2, I have not built the Space elevator yet, but I have really big problems with the assemblers

So, I currently have 2 iron Plants: 1 with a 120/min drill, going into 3 smelters, 2 of them producing iron Plates and 1 being split into iron rods and the iron cast screws

And now I built a second plant from right besides it with 180/min, going into 6 30/min smelters, however even the mk2 conveyor bottlenecks the smelters

However even this way I still only produce enough screws for the rotors, so I still need another 60/min for the reinforced plates

So since I dont have a third iron node by the next 300m my only options are basically to either turn the whole plant into a plate and rod plant each and get a third one from somewhere to get the screws, or I can just redirect the screws from the other plant and let the rotors lag behind

If anyone had other ideas, I would appreciate it

Also, as a bonus: How in Ficsits godforgiven name can I scale these assemblers? Like, If I need 2 Iron entire Pure grade iron plants to build even 1 assembler for each, and the mk2 smelters and stuff only unlock once I got to Tier 3 or 4 already, how can I realistically even finish the Space Elevator project?

As a part of my highschool graduation, I will be going to Berlin with my class from 7th to 11th of July, and I will have about 2-4 hours of free time a day

I have free access to public transport, a burner phone, a rainbow collar and 100€ I intend to spend on food and entertainment for 4 days.

Also, I'm 17, so no KitKat club, but everything from museums to restaurants, pride parades, anti Israel demos, or some good glory holes (or some good massage for someone here) will go.

Looking forward for your Suggestions :)

Every time you look down, your FOV slider just goes from 90 to 50, until you make a 5 second long move trying to move the hair in a way it still looks good while not falling into your face again

Im currently trying to get my Keyboards software to work on linux, but since that won‘t be a thing, like ever, im trying to Reverse engineer the software in order to copy the get and set requests the Software sends over USB and send them over a Python Script using libUSB, so I can control it independent of OS

So I set up my Wireshark with a USB snooper and started using the software

Only problem: Since I have no idea how a Keyboard usually communicates, so I have no idea what to look for. Can someone recommend me some already reverse engeneered FOSS Keyboard software as an example? (Like the wooting software, if its even OSS)

iPad Air 5th gen with maxed out everything, cost me over 1000€ bc I needed it for school and plan to use it as work tablet.

Now it started when I installed iOS 16 a few years ago, the animation from swpining up the lock screen when the iPad was still locked was gone.

Then in 17 or 18 when the Control panel rework came, it sometimes froze up when switching the control panels. Now, some time later the whole thing started to crash when I just pulled it down and started bootlooping a few times. After that stopped after 10 Minutes its back to standard freezing for 10-20 secs

Now I would love to include logs, but Apple is allergic to them, so thats all I have to work with

Yes, im doing le funy Meme. And yes, I am an autist, with some signs towards something adhd adjacent

I first tried Linux Mint when I was 12, eventually changed to Ubuntu when I was 13 or 14 because I saw the Windows 11 copilot button, installed arch at late 14, and got to gentoo when I was 15.

Can anyone beat me to it?

And somehow every single time the problem was so easy to solve, but apparently crying about it is the better solution.
