Recycling: waste vegans.

The Germans are probably upset with this comparison

What for a nonsense. Do these other countries not sort their waste or what? Do they not know about efficiency? Next thing you're going to tell me they don't sort their white, green and brown glass separately.

I'm wondering whether I'll have to wait a long time after royal accent for the new penalty rates bill [1] to enjoy not having to work 40 hours a week (and finally be able to work a standard 38).

From what I can tell, the bill only requires the Fair Work Commission to make/update awards such that you must be paid overtime, meaning the professional employees award won't be valid anymore (where they don't have to unless you earn less than 1.25x of minimum wage).

I'm wondering what your opinion/guess is (not legal advice) on whether we'll need to wait for the award to be updated, or can just go to our employers and say: hey, I'm working 38 hours unless you want to pay me overtime.

I was part of my union, but since engineers are barely in the union, being part of a Professionals Australia (the union for my industry) was kind of a waste of time, and I tried many times to get in touch with their organiser team to push membership in my company to not avail.

Since then I let it lapse because I thought they were doing a pretty bad job, since you can't have solidarity by yourself. In any case, that's why I can't ask them

This is on you then. Providing finished documents in an editable format just feels wrong to me

Just lie. There is absolutely nothing unethical about lying about timeframes on your resume.

Looking for a job after being made redundant, but still in good standing with your former coworker or manager? Just say you still work there.

Otherwise they'll have way more leverage when it comes to salary negotiation.

My friend did this when he got made redundant, landed a well paying job, after months of being unemployed.

You have no reason to have a gap on your resume because you'll be unfairly punished for it.

Just lie. It's 100% ethical.

On the internet whoever you're conversing with is male unless explicitly stated

"OH mY gOd, aRE yoU a GiRL???" In a game lobby.

Same vibes.

Just reiterating, that the original poster was German as I suspected, and pointing it out might spare them being misunderstood in the future. I have no regrets.

Yeah I guess I reordered it "Just let the user decide themselves..." in my head.

As I guessed the commenter was a German speaker. This is a very common occurrence and not something malicious (check like every boardgame from Germany referring to "the player" as "he"), just lost in translation.

Never meant to be annoying or holier-than-thou, people can genuinely misunderstand that it's some sexist remark, and so I pointed it out. Just said it so the commenter hopefully isn't misunderstood in the future.

So, if you feel that's some woke-ass snowflake nonsense, be my guest lol

Yeah that's what I guessed! Alles gut :)

Can you blanket block comments from other instances users?

I am not a fan of Beehaw's decision, but I can't a setting where you can actually do this.
