It's acceptable, but it's way better to wear them all day, as opposed to briefly.
You should get garters or sock glue, both stop them from sliding off so you can be cute and comfy in your thigh highs all day.

Sorry if I offended anyone. I was actually very upset when I posted this because someone had been arguing that I'm an egg and trans girl in denial and that femboys are just trans girls who haven't gotten HRT and bottom surgery.
