@erogenouswarzone piracy isn't the reason why there's product placement was my point, since it occurred from the start of Public Relations and the practice of earned media and payola. Eliminating piracy wouldn't affect product placement, and claiming so sounds like those ignoramuses who say if minimum wage is increased that jobs would be automated away - min wage has remained the same for over a decade and jobs are being automated anyway, jobs will be eliminated regardless of min wage laws

There should be someway to migrate your account even without your original instance being involved, like a PGP public-private key implementation, getting users to normalize floating from instance to instance without a hiccup would alleviate concerns about the glut of users on 4-5 instances

This is akin to Oakland turning off BART's internet during protests sparked by the killing of Oscar Grant. Totalitarian regimes whether its Erdoğan's Turkey, American cities with large protests, Iran, or Russia feel compelled to control communication and information. North Korea never even let's comms/info get turned on.
