It was none of those things actually. It's impossible to objectively judge our own artworks. We can analyze it, tell others what we think are the strong and weak points, but it's extremely common for most people, especially when it comes to art, to judge it with a much higher degree of scrutiny that we do not reserve for others.

It's something I've had to work through myself, both with my art and myself as a person. And with that comes an inherent distrust of others opinions of themselves and their work, especially when it's excessively dismissive or pessimistic.

Those teacher notes still occasionally visit me in my nightmares.

I think your art is probably better than you think. We're all our worst critics.

I think most MonHun fans will agree that Wilds has the best gameplay experience to date. It's such a damn shame that's overshadowed by just how genuinely awful the performance is. I want to keep playing it so badly but I just can't be bothered to do a full computer restart and force close as many programs as possible just to run the game at a mediocre 45-60 fps where everything looks like a slurry of artifacting on a 2070 super and an i7. Ugh...

I seem to remember that they only did after backlash to originally refusing to do so but I wasn't following it super closely. That's why I prefaced it with "IIRC".

IIRC a lot of hate comes from their refusal to blacklist kiwifarms after they bullied several people to suicide.

That kinda goes hard honestly.
