Ahh thanks! Is there a way to search for communities without knowing their specific name? For example, if I wanted to find communities or instances about cooking or another hobby, is there a way to search for those across all instances?

I'm really eager to find new communities for varying levels of niche interests that allow for long-form text posting and some photo and video sharing.

Social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram and the lot aren't really good for sharing recipes and conversations. I'd love to find communities centered around the video games I play, hobbies I enjoy, and places to see what people are cooking and learn from them.

I figure a coupla folks are trying to learn the ins and outs of Jerboa today 😁

Thanks for the tip! Do any of y'all have advice on how to find new communities or instances to subscribe to within the app? I only have a vague understanding of how Lemmy works, but I know I can subscribe to communities outside my instance, I'm just struggling to figure out how to search for new ones.
