Aren't all new releases of franchises the "fastest selling", mainly because the number of people playing video games increases YoY? I would be more interested in a percentage number – maybe copies sold over the total number of games sold in 2023 and compare those to previous years.

Mods are almost a must with Stardew Valley. There are so many QoL improvements to be had, world expansions and automations to remove some of the tedious busy work.
