For new readers of the magazine, shell4kbin is an Android app that creates a dedicated browser for the kbin.social site.

I am developing the app so as to improve the use of the site based on my experience of using it and also your feedback.

Since the first version of the app, the following have been added: css and js injection, a menu where there are various settings and direct links on various pages of the site.

In the latest version, I have added a new setting to display links in the menu for subreddits so that I can follow some specific subs - which in my experience are not yet replicable in terms of content here - without having to "leave" the site.

#android #androidapp #androidapps

For example I set in /m/android to see content from Fediverse that has the #android tag - something I find very useful by the way. Since it is a generic magazine it would be useful to be able to filter content for English only.
Thank you.

I created this simple Android app so that I could view the kbin.social in a dedicated browser.

It's not a dedicated app like, for example, is RIF for Reddit, it's simply a dedicated browser for kbin.social: once you open the app you will see the kbin.social site as you would see it in any browser.

I created this app for myself, because I wanted to interact with the kbin.social site in a browser other than the default browser on my phone, and I am sharing it in case it might be useful to others.

You can get the code and the apk from github: https://github.com/anemomylos/shell4kbin

The closed display halves almost touch, and that can smash debris into the screen.

"The Aol Chat Room Monitor Revolt" (https://priceonomics.com/the-aol-chat-room-monitor-revolt/)

I found this article in a comment (from user britinsb) made on an article in "The Verge".

It is interesting how history repeats itself and how Reddit administrators could get into further trouble by forcing moderators to moderate subs in their own way.

A tablet for tablet things, plus a smart display

Sorry to all you small phone fans out there.
