Kubuntu 24.04 LTS.

Hassle free, easy to use and the desktop environment closely resembles Windows.

Yeah. Couldn't hurt.

Unfortunately no, that isn't the case. Some countries do, some don't. It's not a requirement.

If it can bring more holidays and better working conditions, then I'm all in.

4 weeks minimum paid vacations would be hella nice.

That's not inherently bad. With Flatpak, you can pull your applications from any server, without any verification that the software hasn't been tampered with. At least with Snap there is some control over that, no?

Also, I can't tell you how many times flatpaks failed to download due to server errors. This hasn't hasn't happened with Snaps yet.

For the record, I do prefer Flatpaks over Snaps for its ease of use, access controls, and control over when I update my software. This is something I have found difficult with Snaps.

It means they paid money or provided a service free of charge or with a significant rebate in exchange for advertisement. It's probably no more than that.

It has begun. Trump unleashing the army against the population fighting against his gestapo.

Oh man. I caught it earlier this year in January and it wrecked me. I've never been this sick, not even from COVID.

High fever, chills, chest congestion. I was in bed for a few days just shaking from the chills. Had no appetite. Ended up going to the emergency for a general respiratory infection. I was coughing up body mucous and my head was splitting from the stuffy sinuses.

I'm getting the vaccine this fall as soon as it's availabile. I don't want to go through that again.

Bottles is the way. You can set up bottles (Wine prefixes, or environments) with predefined libraries and Proton for games. You simply run the installer through the GUI or add a shortcut to the executable.

You're welcome! :)

Those are some very good points. You're making me question my perspective.

I just watched this tonight. I had seen some clips from a music video montage and it seemed kinda cool.

After watching it, I found it to be underwhelming. The artwork ans animation weren't that great after all. And the story was so bad lol.

Do not watch unless you have 45 min to waste.

Btw, sorry for not following your guidelines on my initial post. I wasn't done watching it and was going to comment as soon as it was over.

Sadly it's because they are filling for bankruptcy and will be closing down their physical stores. But their online stores will remain open.

Their clothes are of incredible quality and look great.

I'm using Kubuntu 24.04

I installed flatpak and am trying to perform updates but they keep failing. Mainly the downloads keep failing with "Failure when receiving data from the peer." And downloads are painfully slow.

Maybe the main servers are at full capacity? Can I configure mirrors maybe? Where can I find a list?

La guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec is a guild of video game studios from Québec. Check them out for a list of studios and games made in Québec.

You can also check out this list of video game companies established in Québec. Some are international companies, but many are local indy studios.

Hello linux@lemmy.world!

I've completely switched from dual boot to full Linux last year and I've been struggling to find the one tool that could replace the printer software that came with my Canon printer.

My printer came with an application that allows me to print border-less photos and apply fixes such as colour correction, remove red eyes, etc. So far I haven't found any application that allows me to print photos properly.

I'm using Kubuntu 24.04 and I tried using Gwenview to print my photos. While the dialog allows me to configure my printer to print on 4x6 border-less photo paper, it still prints with ~4mm borders.

I'm also asking myself, is this more of a KDE Plasma printing issue or an application printing issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I'm even considering using paid software at this point. Any solution is welcome.
