By my calculations … I’ll do a test next week and post the result

I am host number 5 Yeh!
I think the term is unhelpful. I would not have one on my bikes (I had to remove one from a carbon canyon), but i can adjust a derailleur. But they are practical and keeping a practical item doesn’t make people dorks. We should show love to all cyclists regardless their bike or gear - we are an endangered species!
One of my favourite films of all time is Stars and Watercarriers also has this dash for drinks. And a marvellous sequence in the time trial without music - only the sound of the bike, then strings, then the crowd at the finish. Marvellous. I have watched the film over and over. Enjoy. D
Thank you. I will look at this. I was an early warmshowers member, when it was a paper list. Mostly I was a host. The hosting drifted to become free airbnb. I found myself resenting sponsored cyclists, cyclists clearly richer than me who expected food and availability, cyclists (most of them) who never left feed back. This last point is vital when you are hosting or staying with a stranger. And I really hated to pay for the app - this drive behaviour. People thought well I’m paying I should get something.
So I left, sadly, as I left reddit sadly.
I came here today because I am excited about some bike packing gear and I wanted to share. That’s what is nice about these communities. Who else would I tell?
Ok I’ll look at the info. D
Kudos to Eleanor Gordon Smith and the Guardian for this, and thanks to soyagi for posting x
I am not so sure if it’s terrifying or maths. If GPS start at 25 (say) that gives them 40 years to work. If the population is maintained then 50% of GPS should be over 45 and 25% of GPS should be over 55. So the stat (22%) in the article seems low? And 12.5% should be over 60 so again the stats seem low? Am I completely missing something?
Actually host #3 - also I can’t figure out how to add my travel plan for September. Any advice?
