You should read some history books. It is happening EXACTLY like it happened in the past. Down to a T. Other fascist groups weren't successful their first attempt at seizing power either. Other fascist groups didn't go from 0 to gas chamber instantly.
The fact that they haven't yet lined people up against the wall does not mean they won't the second they feel they can get away with it.
The last time they tried to steal power was a practice run. One they've learned from. One that almost succeeded except for some key people who didn't bend their knee. Having people like that around is a mistake they will not make again.
What media companies are you talking about? You mention there are some righteous ones but they're too few and far between. All of the other ones are owned by like 5 right wing billionaires. Those few and far between ones are all we have.
Having an unlocked phone anywhere near a cop is a bad idea considering they can just grab it. There are stories of them using people's handcuffed hands to unlock phones with fingerprints against the wishes of the phone's owner so I definitely wouldn't put it past them to grab it out of your hand.

I've definitely had a similar feeling with band names and brand names, etc. You're just so used to hearing them that they are their own thing without being the component words that the name contains.
If I've learned anything from video game design, it is much easier to balance smaller numbers. You'd have to be careful to figure out the most amount of some small basic staple you'd need and ensure that it wouldn't have to cost less than 1 cent per unit, however, before setting your minimum value.
Of course, picking the value of your own local currency without regard to its value on the global market isn't really feasible.
