Need a remind me bot.

I'm making a called shot. Once reddit goes public, /r/wallstreetbets is gone.

Its still gonna be on the lemmyverse though: wallstreets.bet

I'm finding I can't reply on some lemmy instances threads. I can however post to those same communities. Has any one else had this issue?

I have the issue on lemmy.world and beehaw.org. I can't reply there (but I can post). However, I can post and reply to lemmy.ml

I think the 'discovery' aspect of lemmy might have some issues. Its not particularly easy to get connected into the federation (it basically has to be done manually), as far as I can tell.

I think the fediverse will be better supported by niche interests like lemmygrad.ml, or like wallstreets.bet. Smaller fiefdoms that focus pretty narrowly on niche interests, but that can be interesting to other groups in the fediverse. More 'tribal' and less monolithic than reddit. We've also already see how problematic that monolithic tendency of web-3.0 can be (centralized control via reddit; crashing of lemmy.ml).

SO I think if you are super into gardening, you should find a gardening lemmy for your home base, and federate out from there. I just wish cross-federation community discover was easier.

Is there a way to automate community discovery across the federation?

I started my own lemmy but I'm finding I have to search for and subscribe manually for them to appear. Right now I'm the only person on my lemmy so its gonna be slow going till I grow my community.

Is there an automated way to do this?

Also, are there any good bot scripts for lemmy? I want to get some bots set up to create some daily posts automatically.

Because WSB is a den of debauchery and trouble making. Its had direct and indirect impacts on markets. It also drinks piss and monitors where dogs shit as a market indicator. Its not something a publically traded company can really be associated with.

I saw the reply they had. Interesting point about "We don't use your API so we didn't agree to the TOS of your API. Also there is no 'we', since we don't host invictus; simply develop it as a product"

I'm not sure. Try searching for !wsb_main@wallstreets.bet.

I'm still learning the whole federation thing.

If you looking for a degnerate alternative to WSB, consider signing up to wallstreetbets.

I dont think reddit survive this and I sure as sheet dont think they'll allow subs like wsb to persist.

The end coming through with a bang.

You might consider looking at invidious.

It wraps up youtube content such that you see 0 ads, have 0 tracking, and a much better overall experience. As well it lets you connect to other content like stuff hosted on peertube.

defederated

I'm not sure I understand what defederated means in this context. Can you explain it?

Invidious is the most obvious. Its FOSS wrapper but it also lets you watch peertube and other federated content.
