We did vote for using an automated tool, even, to protect against such instances: https://sh.itjust.works/post/338826

You can also see previous discussion in this post: [Vote] Clear the federation blacklist

I don't know anything about Decidim yet, personally, but I think evaluating options like this is the way to go.

Personally I can't think of how voting can be done cleanly within just Lemmy yet. It seems like there should be a special type of post developed for it.

I see a couple issues with your proposal. Actual discussion can either drown out the options to be voted, especially the ones that are being downvoted. Second, the snowball effect would be even worse than comment-based voting, as the earliest upvoted options would be on the top of the thread.

I, for one, wouldn't have joined this instance if it wasn't blocked.

Whoa, that worked. It's as if searching for it actually created or linked the community. Thank you!

Hello, I'm new here! I'm currently trying to find communities to join. One of them I ran across which I'd personally like to join is https://lemmy.world/c/dfw , which I believe should translate to https://sh.itjust.works/c/dfw@lemmy.world , but that currently gives me a 404. Is there any reason for this? Am I doing something wrong? I appreciate the help!
