Hi Kresten, it's not what I meant. I am familiar with the "all" option. What I am suggesting is the ability to "duplicate" an instance's communities without having to subscribe to them. The idea is that if the primary instance goes down, other instances could be a full duplicate of the primary one for redundancy -- at least for visitors that are not logged in and customized to their liking.

That being said, the mod rules are not super clear if you are implementing them them in the way that you have responded to my post. There's no mention of open ended questions. I will refrain from my post like this in the future.

Seems like there should be a feature to offer the full Lemmy community and posts for all federated instances. This would serve a multi-node/instance backup that doesn't rely on the users to search for posts on instances they are lurking in. The manual searching function is just not user friendly.

This should obviously be an opt-in feature so small instances are not overloaded.

It's in the settings. I don't have an account anymore to guide you, but it should be straight forward.

I deleted my account yesterday, but did not delete my posts and comments. I forgot that I even needed to do that.
