In my case, I wanted to get away from US American closed source social media controlled by US companies which ultimately are controlled by Trump and his narrative. Am German. We’re mad as hell.

Yeh plus they let neonazi groups usw their forums for recruiting and hate speech, because they don't want to pay any mods.
Not only tourism. Scientists are cancelling conference attendances of fear they‘ll get harassed or deported (which already happened). It’s such a shame because science need exchange.
