Thanks! Working nicely now

My phone (Galaxy S22+, running OneUI 6.0) was inactive yesterday for 18 hours straight. On those hours the battery went from 60% to 25%. I checked and the main two causes were: 13.6% - Firefox 12.2% - Always on Display. The AOD I get, it was indeed on all this time. Altough it is a bit disapointing that it uses this much battery, it is still less than 1% per hour so I'll take it. I have not idea why Firefox was even on this list? What can it be? Why was it active? How can I check it?

I just installed LSP stuff using Mason (debugpy, pyright, black and flake8) and made sure that they are also installed on my python environment.

This pops-up when I try to start DAP (by either F5 or by :DapContinue).

I'm quite new to neovim so I might be missing somthing basic,

I recently started a fresh configuration using kickstart.nvim.

I noticed that sometimes when I writing python files when I press space (which is my key) followed by : the line indentation increase. It doesn't seem to happen on text files. I didn't find any configuration which maps this behavior

Any idea why this happens? How to disable this?

Interesting. But won't it work only for the background? Waldo isn't part of the background, he is a separate object as he changes position after each time you find him and click on it (I forgot to mention this important point).

I quite new to web development. I created a simple game which suppose to raise awareness to the RP syndrome (which I suffer from). The simple goal is to find Waldo but the twist is that there is nothing but him on the screen.

I want to add a "flashlight courser effect" meaning that the only visible part of the screen should be the one around the courser (for some fixed or maybe chosen radius). But, I don't want the rest of the screen (the non-visible) to be black but white / blank (as this is in a way the way that I see the world). The other elements (buttons, score and counter) should stay visible always.

Can someone advice me on how can it be done? Ideally there should be two switches (on the corner) one controlling the mode (full visibility vs limited field of vision) and the second one controlling the type of "darkness" (black vs white).

Here is the link to the repo with the current code: https://github.com/menisadi/RPWaldo

Thanks in advance

Update: Thanks everyone!!! I used the SVG idea and added the flashlight effect" (even added a switch to toggle the "flashlight mode" on and off). Working great. Thanks!

Thanks! Just a little question: will it indeed fit into a backpack? :)

Oh actually I haven't. Somehow I didn't see this model pop-up. Do you recommend?

Hey all

I've been searching for a portable keyboard that I can easily carry in my backpack as I switch between different working spaces. Since I primarily use MacOS, I'm looking for a keyboard with a MacOS layout. After some research, I've narrowed down my options to three models:

  1. Nuphy Air60
  2. Logitech K380
  3. Keychron K7.

I'd appreciate your insights and recommendations on which one would be the best fit for my needs. Here are a few things I'm considering:

  1. Portability: How easy is it to carry in a backpack? Is it lightweight and compact enough for on-the-go use?

  2. Compatibility: I need it to work seamlessly with MacOS. Have you had any compatibility issues with these keyboards on a Mac?

  3. Typing Experience: How comfortable and responsive is the typing experience? Is it suitable for extended periods of typing?

  4. Build Quality: Does the keyboard feel durable and well-constructed? Any issues with keys or connectivity?

  5. Battery Life: How long does the battery typically last on these keyboards?

  6. Any Additional Features: Are there any standout features or drawbacks that I should be aware of?

If you've used any of these keyboards or have other recommendations in mind, please share your experiences and thoughts. Your input will be a big help in making my decision!

Thanks in advance for your assistance! 😊

Sorry to bother but what about mobile?

But if YouTube doesn't earn enough how will they be able to maintain the site? Agree that they can earn a little less but for some reason it doesn't work that way (I'm not aware of a service of such scale which keep profit at minimum) 🤷

Thanks! Just curious, is AdBlock intentionally programmed to block only such advertisements? Or is it just a slightly "worse" ad blocker?

[–] menisadi@programming.dev 2 points 2 years ago (5 children)

That is great! But can I ask how much do you donate? I feel that if I try to donate to all the creators that I use the tools they develop or consume the content they create, this expense will bypass my rent (unless I will give everyone a really, really small donation).

After thinking about it for a long time I came to the conclusion that I'm OK with ads. They are not so annoying to me and as long as they are not popping out or really interfering forcefully I fine with them being there. As far as I can see ads are the de-facto fuel for a broad part of the content-creation monetization system which I consume heavily (mainly YouTube).

so, I want to configure my set-up so it won't block all the ads (especially not on YouTube). But, I do think that the amount tracking this days sites have is highly exaggerated and unnecessary (I worked on data-science so I can say that with a bit of confidence). Therefor I do want to block trackers and third-party cookies if possible.

Currently using Firefox both on my Macbook and my Android phone (with Duckduckgo as my search engine).

Is the above possible? Which extensions might be relevant?

Thanks And please don't kill\cancel me :)
