I stopped using emacs because I was spending more time in config files than actually doing anything useful

It’s not exactly weird, but I loved the giant “duke” controller for the og xbox. A lot of people hated it but I think it’s one of the most comfortable controllers ever made.

Do a lot of cable management and clean up the desk. Once you do that it will look pretty nice

Tripped and hit my arm on the maple syrup canning machine that heats a water jacket to 200 f and got a 2 inch diameter blister.

OpenSuse is a good choice as long as you don’t need nvidia optimus support or anything for weird hardware

I’ve always used a multimeter and never had any problems with it

I used to be able to remember about a dozen phone numbers, now I barely remember mine.

I love this band so much, every song from them is a banger.

Mods let me know if this is nsfw

I've been playing a lot of inscryption and while kaycee's mod is fun, it can get a little boring after a while. Is there anything that will scratch that itch? (that's not magic the gathering, too predatory).

Edit: Just bought slay the spire and it is really fun so far. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

Has anyone used it? What was your experience with install/performance? I'm thinking of getting one because it has decent specs for $250. I don't need banking apps or anything like that, and the only social media app I need is snapchat (I know that sort of defeats the purpose, but I just want better privacy, not perfect).

A new Rolling Stones album is coming in October!

Minimal Emacs? (lemmy.blahaj.zone)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by moonsnotreal@lemmy.blahaj.zone to c/emacs@lemmy.ml

I have been using vim for forever and I have dabbled in using emacs throughout the years. Emacs with the evil mode bindings is very comfortable, and I prefer org-mode over markdown (at least for the type of notes I do).

The main thing that stops me from using emacs though is how bloated it is. I don't want the games, web browser, email client, etc. Is there a way to remove those features from a standard install or from source?

Edit: I guess I'll stick with vim for now. It looks like Neovim might be more what I'm looking for instead of Emacs
