Bitcoin switched to industrial ASICs a long time ago, and Ethereum has completely moved away from proof-of-work mining in 2022, see: https://ethereum.org/en/roadmap/merge/

The Merge was executed on September 15, 2022. This completed Ethereum's transition to proof-of-stake consensus, officially deprecating proof-of-work and reducing energy consumption by ~99.95%.

GPU mining is pretty much completely dead because after Ethereum switched the yields on everything else tanked, no one mines with GPUs anymore, at least not for any major blockchain. GPUs are mainly being used with AI now

I'm not into overdosing into anything, so it's all about balance, which means I usually stick with a beer a day at most

I ditched my goodreads account once I learned about bookwyrm as an alternative, I'm liking it so far

This little cunt of mine tended to inflame every other month instead of teething already. I decided to remove it, and I ended up spending almost 2 hours in surgery because it had fused into another tooth. Instead of coming out cleanly, it broke and a few fragments were left behind

Doc said it was okay to leave it as it would be absorbed or come out again eventually. Almost a year later, and the little prick sends his regards by inflaming my face completely and having to rush to surgery again.

Hopefully it was the end of that. Fuck this SOB

I'll look into that one too, I didn't know about it

Which bullshit are you talking about? I might have missed it and my search didn't bring much on it

We should actually use an opensource, decentralized and private alternative instead of relying on another centralized service

See Fileverse for example: https://fileverse.io/

I had never heard of peertube before. I really liked it and this video had great production value. I love when they use their own footage. Also, don't forget your croissant

At least where I'm from, some stores offer discount for cash greater than the cashback. I always ask :)

As much skepticism as it might have, if you can't use cash for a transaction, crypto is another viable alternative which can be decentralized, trustless and private preserving, as long as you don't fall for VC scams like Solana, Avalanche, Sui, etc

As always, DYOR
