It is also an habitat for plants, insects, birds, and small animals, while also improving air quality by absorbing pollutants and providing a natural sound barriers, reducing noise pollution and stress levels related to it.
Have you looked into partially converting your home to off grid solar instead? Basically you have your home running solar during the day and any excess/night time energy required you can get from the power company as usual. No credit fuckery required
Of course, public transport has a limit and we can root for both as well, including protected bike lanes even in the boonies like we successfully see in the Netherlands
