Tbf they probably have good reason.

Maybe next time and everytime go out and vote blue so they have even a chance of doing something to stop it.

Elections have consequences.

What if Scalia was the one holding Thomas back and Clarence was the one who shot Scalia with the ice bullet containing the heart attack serum that killed him?

Even if that were the case what makes you think they are any more aware now? Their team has won and they are probably mostly unaffected by his policies or if they are they will use mental gymnastics to blame their problems on Democrats and immigrants.

I've tried communicating with Trump supporters. Hell most of my family are them. I'm the only brown gay person in my family (apart from my mom who is a brown immigrant -- and even she is a Trump supporter). I've communicated the harm his policies do. They don't care. They think his policies are good. I'd posit they know the harm they are doing and they like it.

I disagree with your premise that his policies are unpopular. He is literally doing everything he promised in his campaign and his policies were popular enough to get him elected. Or not unpopular enough for people to go out and vote against them.

This is the current reality of America. A huge portion of the population prioritizes hating minorities and the poor over the public good.

Ideally you'd catch warning signs before you ever got married to him. My guess is a lot of those who are detained who are married to Trump supporters also support the detention of immigrants and just never thought it would happen to them.

Like it or not they have a monopoly on the most active forum service. To the point where no other service is really useful when it comes to asking live questions and getting live answers for many different topics.

How do I do that? Just google "local accountants"? How do I find one that will be more targeted to individuals rather than businesses?

Yeah I've been trying to. I haven't been on it for nearly half a year at this point. I'm fine with using Lemmy but there are some things Lemmy isn't great at like having thriving communities I can direct questions about personal finance to and getting a wide variety of opinions. Or even pottery discussion. Lemmy is almost only about politics, Linux, and Star Trek memes. Not much more than that.

I actually think Lemmy has started to die off more since I've been here. I'm guessing I was part of some large migration when I started but now most of those people have stopped coming on several months later.

Sentenced but not yet executed.

This is what Americans voted for (or failed to vote against).
