You seem to be under the impression that the votes will be real and will correspond to the mods he removes

I don't see how Lemmy will fill the gap of Reddit - it's resulting in fragmentation in c/technology@beehaw.org

Exactly: r/baseball and r/MLB, r/hockey and r/NHL, the 50 Linux subreddits, it goes on and on. Fragmentation is far from a fediverse innovation.
