I think both Read You and Nextcloud News are solid FOSS apps on android. Both from f-droid. On Linux newsboat.

Agree on both points

Don't know precisely, but hear from time to time that Microsoft is notorious for not patching in time in many cases, leaving vulnerabilities for months and sometimes years. I am pretty sure that MS just kinda gave up on the vulnerabilities MimiKatz exploits, so if the bad guys are on your network and you use MS infra it's pretty much a question of time before they get admin credentials.

Used it and it was good, as I remember. Later switched to uBlock Origin because it presumably uses less resources and does the job.

Yes, often overlooked. And, I hear, almost impossible to selfhost these days without a degree in CS, because "we block all non big tech e-mail providers".

The no algorithm part is pretty neat. Don't know if you are referring to the Nextcloud News app. If that's the case, it's free on the f-droid app store.

Anyone have the "Media content not available ..." when using newpipe to stream on Kodi, and a fix for it?

Also big fan of IRC. It has some of the same advantages as XMPP, and then some for group chat.

Agree it's easier to get techies on board. With normal people it is kind of a struggle competing and argumenting against the likes of WhatsApp, FB messenger and such. But I totally think it's worth it because privacy.
