I worked at a company that made IoT stuff (which is an increasingly archaic term). The web team was pitching using a third party tool called ThingSpace to view and manage the things. The web dev said ThingSpace could do all these amazing things automatically. The manager said “can we change the color of the background?” The web dev said “…. no.”
Seems like running a national space program that depends on a private company run by a petulant child is a bad idea.

It seemed inevitable to me. The people saying it's kayfabe haven't said why they would do this. The best I can think of is that Elon needed to appear to be back at the helm at Tesla and SpaceX, but if Trump follows through on removing EV credits and messing with SpaceX's government contracts… what was the point in pretending, again?
Are we really to believe that Trump has the attention span for some weird long con? Are we to believe he's forgotten the humiliation of being shushed on live TV by Elon's brat? Trump has no friends. He betrays everyone who faithfully serves him — just ask Rudy. And he doesn't even like Elon.
And if it's all fake, someone explain how awkwardly Elon bites his tongue in that exit interview.
