Not a huge amount of transcoding happening, but some for old Chromecasts and some for low bandwidth like when I was out of the country a few weeks ago watching from a heavily throttled cellular connection. Most of my collection is h264, but I've got a few h265 files here and there. I am by no means recommending my setup as ideal, but it works okay.

It does fine. It's an i5-6500 running CPU transcoding only. Handles 2-3 concurrent 1080p streams just fine. Sometimes there's a little buffering if there's transcoding going on. I try to keep my files at 1080p for storage reasons though. This thing's not going to handle 4k transcoding very well, but it does okay if you don't expect too much from it.
EspoCRM. I really like it for my purposes. I manage a CiviCRM instance for another job that needs more customization, but for basic needs, I find espo to be beautiful, simple, and performant.
7 websites, Jellyfin for 6 people, Nextcloud, CRM for work, email server for 3 domains, NAS, and probably some stuff I've forgotten on a $4 computer from a tiny thrift store in BFE Kansas. I'd love to upgrade, but I'm always just filled with joy whenever I think of that little guy just chugging along.
Another outlet has it listed at $499, fwiw.
I'm curious, if you don't mind weighing in a little further, do you mean that you're not currently worried about contracting bird flu or do you mean that you're not worried about the potential of this strain to become transmissible between humans.
As a lay person who's been following the outbreak for almost 3 years now, it seems that the goal posts for concern have been continually moving.
That's kind of a no brainer then. Amazon already has your money, might as well get something from it.
I try to avoid Amazon for my personal shopping, but I've bought literally hundreds of renewed/refurbished laptops and Chromebooks on Amazon for work. I have not had a single DOA or switcheroo in over 200 laptops from different sellers except one that has a broken screen, which was ready to return. You are very likely not throwing your money away by buying via Amazon, though that doesn't mean it's necessarily the best place to buy.
Arrrr suite feeding jellyfin.
Same here. Fuck the naysayers who say cold turkey or nothing. Do what works for you.
For OP: One caveat to the vape plan is you'll likely need to get a vape that's refillable so you can customize the nicotine level. Juul/vuse/disposables typically only come in one, or at best, 2 nicotine levels, which prevents effective tapering.
Also, don't fall into the trap of vaping places you wouldn't have smoked (e.g. in your house/car). That can increase your nicotine dependency.
Good luck!
If you haven't seen it yet, I can't recommend Midnight Mass highly enough! Probably my favorite horror/spooky thing ever. Best to go in blind, I think. It's not a mystery per se, but figuring out what's going on is part of the fun for sure.
Honestly, it's kind of heartening how infrequently they forget the benevolent part.
