More than two-thirds of Mormons are Republican, so it might be the same Jesus.

Still, I couldn't imagine either version hanging out with the "in" crowd.

Watch your step, otherwise you might end up knee-deep in enshittification.

He supposedly hung out with outcasts, so who knows?

That's a different Jesus, though -- Republican Jesus.

Maybe they wrote the headline that way under the assumption that climate-change deniers wouldn't read past it (?)

Of course, here's the bottom line:

Climate models suggest Earth should have heated up about 1.3 C by now, because of fossil fuel burning and other human-driven disruptions to the planet.

Beyond this, they're just zeroing in on variables such as volcanoes, weather patterns, ship emissions, clouds, etc. So that is apparently what the somewhat misleading headline characterizes as a "mystery".

"May Anita's memory and her faith in eternal life through Christ comfort all who embraced her," her family said.

People like Anita Bryant give religion a bad name.

No matter how wealthy you are, your house can be destroyed.

AND...

(from USA Today)

California had a home insurance crisis before the LA fires. It's only going to get worse.

The impact of the catastrophic wildfires could drive up already sky-high premiums and prompt a new wave of private insurers dropping policies or declining to write new ones – and not just in the LA area.

can you guys keep it to yourselves? One pandemic was enough for a lifetime for me.

With this incoming administration -- the same one that botched the response to the last pandemic -- I don't know if that's possible.

Oh, it's no big deal; what you said is true in terms of eggs being used to make vaccines.

But avian flu outbreaks require them to cull (kill) large numbers of egg-producing chickens, so it's basically a supply-and-demand issue -- hence the price spikes.

The price spikes are driven by avian (bird) flu.

There have been several outbreaks here in the States over the past year or so and we're in the middle of yet another one.

I was able to get a dozen large eggs for about $1.60 in October; now they're at least twice that.
