Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are on the same page again.

The US and Russian presidents are now both singling out Europe as stasis envelops efforts to end the Ukraine war three weeks after their high-profile but low-impact summit in Alaska.

Trump called on Europe to do more in a call with European leaders on Thursday — even though the only incremental diplomatic activity to do with the war is coming from US transatlantic allies as they try to work out security guarantees to protect Ukraine after any peace deal.

Translation of the article:

Germany and France want to deepen their cooperation in the media sector and combat disinformation. Among other things, there are plans to expand the Arte broadcasting network into a European platform.

A corresponding declaration was signed at the Franco-German Ministerial Council in Toulon, as announced by Minister of State for Culture Weimer (independent). Arte is a “model of success and a beacon of the European idea.” The goal is to develop a European streaming service in 24 languages that will complement national broadcasting and media services and tap into new target groups.
Cooperation between Deutsche Welle and France Médias Monde will also be expanded
Germany and France also agreed to strengthen cooperation between the international broadcasters Deutsche Welle and France Médias Monde. Together, they want to disseminate reliable information far beyond the borders of the EU, Weimer explained. The cooperation is also a response to the US withdrawal from funding independent media. Among other things, President Trump had cut subsidies for the US foreign media outlets Voice of Europe and Radio Free Europe.
This news was broadcast on August 30, 2025, on the Deutschlandfunk program.

Misleading pricing:

Using the billing period as the header and showing the price for the billing period... except for monthly—which shows 1/4 the price and says "every week" in smaller, gray text.

Punishing non-subscription payments:

Adding a $6.50 (1400%) surcharge for wanting a weekly one-time payment instead of a recurring subscription.

Charging more for longer periods:

Monthly billing, once you remove the dark pattern and convert it to its actual price, is $2. There are 12 months in a year, meaning it would cost $24 to maintain that subscription for a year.

Why is the yearly subscription $29, then?

If you want to verify this for yourself, you're going to need to clear your cookies and reload an article a lot. They do A/B tests and show different subscription requied modals. This one was the worst.

In 2023, the then-Conservative government awarded Palantir with a £330m contract to “build a new NHS data platform”. The move proved controversial because Palantir is a US spy tech firm and its co-founder Peter Thiel is a prominent Trump donor with links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Now, a trove of leaked emails have shone further light on Thiel’s connections.

But not everyone cares, unfortunately. The masses will always be exposed to this shit.

People let those other people control resources

Who would be able to take it away from them? They'll do everything possible to keep them. Move it, buy politicians, etc.

could it be because they shared the greed and thought they would benefit more from it by letting that happen?

You mean trickle down and that bs?
