Yeah like. I want a large community and stuff but. The idea of a new Reddit preferring community is weirdly repellent.

I really don’t want to hate on their preferences but also holy shit.

He dropped like a thousand of them. He was using it regularly until sometime in the 2010s.

Eminem is weird cause he leans left but will use any word— save for n word and now f— as long as it rhymes or fits the scheme, then does nearly nothing else offensive. It’s like words are exempt from his morality.

Very few reasons to get a Tesla when Lucid exists. I can think of three good ones— price, software reliability, and concerns about the company’s health— but these aren’t enough to overcome the icky feeling of funding Musk and his aspirations for me.

I don’t get why anyone would stay on a site they thought reason wasn’t allowed at.

I’ve been frustrated several times at what I perceive as Lemmy bias that borders extremism, but on the whole it’s perfectly reasonable. Essentially every response to the parent comment agreed with it (I have yet to see someone disagree but perhaps I haven’t scrolled enough).

Lemmy isn’t big enough to feel you need to stay, as Reddit was when comments like this were plentiful.

Hell yeah brother, keep it up. You’ll hit other phenomenal milestones but this one will probably stay most satisfying for a long time

HDMI 2.2 will be released in the first half of this year and be widely available “to all HDMI 2.x adopters.” Your TV and external devices will need to support the specification

Will this solve eARC sync issues on existing devices that support 2.1? Like I could just get a new cable and it would work?

My thinking was it wasn’t enough weight. I’ll watch the video soon and see though, if it works for that guy it should work for me

Yeah, I’ve swapped out most exercises for wrist friendly ones. It’s just, I have to do a lot of decline ring push ups to make up for losing every bench press movement and I fuckin hate those. Sadly they’re the only chest workout we can figure that keep the wrists in a neutral grip.

Slowly, more exercises are returning, but the ones I want back most will be the last to come. This is easily the injury I regret most, I truly hope none of you ever get it.

Right, relevance, posted this here cause it’s hugely affected my workout routine. All bench movements are out and I’ve had to throw in calisthenics. Which is fine, but I’d kill for my wrist to fully recover

TFCC injury (lemmy.world)

Got a partial TFCC tear climbing like six months ago and recovery has been slow. Ortho doesn’t think it needs operating and PT likes progress, so I guess I’m inclined to agree.

Anyone here have personal experience? Things are mostly recovered but it’s been very, very slowly improving for a couple months now. Like barely. Is the tail end meant to take this long?

Edit: I’m in my late 20s

Two sentence comments get strawmanned, and since it’s not a work email, nobody has to read it. Manage your time better and skip it, skip this. Why bother with social media if you don’t want to read more than two sentences?

Not to get like, “back in my day about it”, but long comments and casual conversation used to be encouraged. Used to be seen as lazy to drop points for the sake of brevity. Your comments are short and this is the first time you’ve mentioned the actual topic since the og comment— potentially useful discussion is lost in the race to the bottom.

Poor political strategy is asinine. That one has real world effects.

Yeah I can monologue a bit, but I have found that explaining in full avoids miscommunication and eventually gets a real response. I do get the weak replies that can’t justify their own ideas, but in my entire time on Lemmy, I have always eventually gotten a real explanation. Even this time.

I’d wade through a hundred of yous to get to someone willing to engage in length. It’s always worth it.

Good point and I generally agree. I suppose it comes down to:

But he's not. At least not while he was president.

Almost every time someone praises Carter, it’s prefaced with “presidency aside”. His presidency has been looked down upon for decades. If he hadn’t followed it with decades of humanitarian service, he wouldn’t be remembered.

Perhaps I just don’t see the Dems’ lines about how he’s the ideal leftist. In that context I understand the need to discuss the bads. But having not seen, well, any praise ever for his life as a politician this article comes off as trying to keep leftist spirits down. Still, the Dems doing that would fit right into the MO, so yeah good point.

It always brings happiness when I see a Voyager update. Thanks @aeharding@vger.social for continuing to work on the app. Couldn’t imagine Lemmy without it.

Clinton is a ready-made replacement. She possesses an unparalleled resume and an unmatched depth of experience. She has consistently redefined the roles she has served, from secretary of State and U.S. senator to first lady and Children’s Defense Fund attorney. Her extensive background in domestic and international affairs is not just impressive; at a time when global politics are increasingly volatile and complex, her experience is priceless. Her continued advocacy for children’s rights and health care—a topic of ever-increasing importance post-pandemic—adds another layer of appeal.

First, thanks again for making this app. It’s excellent and I’m always impressed when I use it.

I have an unusual and possibly niche feature request inspired by Alien Blue: swiping forwards and backwards from any edge. So from the left edge you can swipe right as if to go back, but reverse the motion and go forwards instead. And vice versa. It feels like using momentum to navigate either way with a single finger. Discord also had this feature until the mobile app redesign.

Video example here, it says it’ll expire in two days but I don’t know where else to put it. This allows for satisfying operation and one handed browsing, such as when vigorously masturbating to tech news.

I understand if this is too niche to add, it’s merely something I’ve wanted every app to have since AB. Thanks for reading!

Ps, I would also appreciate an option to put the vote buttons on the left. Years of AB then Apollo have gotten me quite used to that, and maybe left handed people would appreciate it. No rush on either of these if you choose to work on them, I’ve been meaning to ask for both of these since the days of web app only. I actually meant to ask Apollo’s dev for the swipe thing too, back when it released in the App Store, but didn’t interact much back on reddit and never got around to it.
