Glad to hear that's happening even in small towns!

I'm in the US and I'll continue buying my favorite Canadian products (mostly gluten-free foods as my partner is celiac and Canada exports a lot of excellent GF food). Obviously can't avoid American food here so I don't buy stuff from red states which is surprisingly easy.

I'm in the US and wanted to switch from Gmail to a privacy focused European email provider, so I paid for a year of Posteo and so far I've been really happy with it. The service is excellent, it's inexpensive and their ethics/values as an organization are wonderful.

Vegan breakfast option sounds so nice! When I tried it there weren't any participating vegetarian or vegan restaurants in my city of 3 million people. Restaurants would have listings on the app that were for example, "You'll get a large box of random food that might be fries, grilled chicken, salad, soup of the day or any mix of those!"

Glad to hear they added that feature! I downloaded it again and I'm going to give it another try.

If you've purchased food through the app from restaurants that cook your meal fresh, doesn't that go against the point of the app which is to reduce food waste by purchasing food that would otherwise be thrown out? Maybe cooking the food fresh for Too Good To Go customers isn't quite as bad as restaurants that prepare extra food in advance just to sell on the app (and end up throwing away much of it), but they're still using the app as another way to sell food without any regard to reducing food waste. If the goal is to reduce food waste then they shouldn't be preparing anything extra for users of the app.

Awesome, thank you!! No idea why bottom navigation was disabled, but this worked.

This is maddening, what am I missing? In the hamburger menu in the top left, tapping on Guest switches to my username and loads the local communities feed, while tapping on my username switches to Guest and loads the subscribed communities feed. I can't seem to do anything with either my username or Guest -- no way to view my profile, posts or comments.

How do I get to my profile, saved posts and comments?

Also, does this app have an inbox/messaging feature? I don't even plan to use it, but I don't see it anywhere. I feel like a big chunk of the app is missing.

I tried searching and couldn't find an answer.

I worked at a food bank a couple years ago and we regularly received pallets of government cheese through The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). They were massive blocks of orange cheddar with almost no text on the label. We also received pallets of government pistachios and dried cherries that were as good as any you'd buy in a store.

I tried this app and while I love the concept I think the implementation is trash.

My biggest complaint when I tried it was that you couldn't specify dietary restrictions, like there's not even a simple vegetarian option which would be so easy for many restaurants to accommodate. This app might be ok if you're happy eating any slop the restaurant can't sell that day, but if you have literally any preference then too bad.

Then there's also the issue of some restaurants that intentionally make extra food so they can sell it on the app. I don't have a solution to this one, but it's a problem that needs to be addressed if the point of the app is to reduce food waste.

American here and I've cancelled a lot of subscriptions over the past month. I'm basically only paying for essentials like groceries, utilities, various insurance plans and gas. A lot of us here are doing what we can to reduce our spending.

Unfortunately I lost access to Viaplay (Swedish streaming service) after my girlfriend cancelled her Amazon Prime membership. Prime had to go, but I miss my Nordic noir.

Netflix has become trash over the years anyway, you're all better off with other services.
