I did a "rm -rf *" in the wrong directory today.

I got the absolutely beautiful "argument list too long" in return.

I had a backup. But holy shit I'm glad the directory had thousands of files in it and nothing happened. First time I got that bash error and was happy.

I usually have rm aliased to "trash" or whatever that cli based recycle bin is. But just installed a new OS and ran this on a NAS folder today by mistake.

I've heard people had luck with Tailscale playing nicely with non Plex options. I can't say I've tried it. Though I do use Tailscale. Essentially if you setup Tailscale for Grandma it'll be like she's sitting on your local network. Even better, set it up on her router and you can literally debug all her Internet problems if you can ping it.

Beyond that a raspberry pi with a battery backup on a 4G subscription connected to the router. That would be the ultimate "grandma" setup. Connect her router/modem power to remote power cycle. But I digress.

For some reason I get permission errors on jellyfin every time I use it. Never with Plex. I've gone through the steps to fix it before. But when you change your shit as much as I do. I just stay with Plex because it's plug and play. And I have the pass. I don't have the time to fuck with stupid shit with jellyfin.

Plex still good for the boys that bought the lifetime pass. I understand why people would change. But it's still the best plug and play option. Waiting until they break the "lifetime" thing and fuck us over.

Not sure about the title of this post. But I just really wish more Democrat voters would come to the realization that a lot of people didn't vote for Trump because they liked him. They voted for him because of how absolutely ineffective the Democratic party has been.

Zohran should really be a reality check for people. The people that voted for him were not politics Andy's like you and I. They voted for him because he had a clear message "free busses and rent freeze" is his "build the wall".

People are looking for real promises. The biggest difference is that a rent freeze and better public transit actually will improve their lives.

If you don't offer real improvements the masses will go for the guy with the xenophobic policy. A policy that promises to hurt "people not like me" and maybe then that will make my life better.

That's the reasoning. Simple as.

It's not because the masses love racism or rapists. It's because they are so desperate for a politician that will actually represent working class interest that the first idiot billionaire with charisma was a "why not" in 2016.

In 2024 it was a complete lack of the Democratic party to capitalize on that. There are people in America thirsting for the "change" that Obama promised. They just got wise. They realized that if it's called "change" or "abundance" it's the same stupid shit that maintains the interest of the rich.

They want simple promises of actual material improvement that a politician can be judged on. And Zohran will be. But he's brave enough to actually take a stand.

Edit: seriously, please don't fall for the same neoliberalism packaged as "abundance" this time.

It's not a conspiracy theory mate. Republicans do it all the time. Signal racism and then say "oh I didn't mean it like that".

That's all she's done. She just did it with the liberal aesthetic you enjoy.

Notice how she apologized for "mischaracterizing" and for her tone? Yeah. Because she know she would do that.

The entire point is to mischaracterize the position and spread racist xenophobia. Why can liberals know exactly what this is when conservatives do it to black people but when racist Zionist do it to brown people they think "well, they apologized by saying 'it wasn't totally accurate'"

Don't believe these people trying to fight progress by trying to appeal to Americans racism and xenophobia. They aren't your allies. They aren't good people. They are trying to keep them and their corrupt friends in power. That's it.

Honestly, I don't want their endorsement. Fuck em. This party is getting taken over by the left or we're burning it down.

I think they see the inevitable rise of fascism and don't want to get grabbed by Trump's brown shirts. They're liberals that are being scratched and looking for a safe place in the future.

They didn't even do their typical. "Oh we're against the bombing of Iran but because he didn't go through Congress". I literally was waiting to roll my eyes at all their liberal "following procedure for our war crimes" but they even stayed quiet about it mostly.

We had two parties. Fascist and Liberals. Now we just have fascist and Liberals looking for a safe place in the new power structures. They're kind of confused I think. A little caught off guard with how much Trump is following through on actual policy. They're use to both parties lying and giving working class dollars to the rich. The conservatives are no longer playing the game of politics they all use to love that got nothing done.

Fuck the party leaders and most of these shits in Washington. They have no place now. We don't need their endorsement.

We can win with the momentum. We don't need to win power back through votes. We just need to give this countries people enough hope to build class consciousness. Decades can happen it weeks.

Just got let go from Microsoft for speaking out. Not that it would matter. But now the UN is at least on my side too. Garbage company. Never even wanted to work there. My company got bought out by them and suddenly was a Microsoft employee. Fuck em! All their leadership should be in prison or worse.
