Cut her some slack, it's not her turn with the brain cell yet

I think it won't be overnight, but there's probably a sea change coming where more and more people are getting fed up with gigantic centralized platforms and all the manipulation and trolling that the companies operating them are all too happy to let go on. I seriously doubt the mods are going to get their way on Reddit, but I suspect it's going to get even less worth visiting from here on out.

Oh wow. I've heard of comments ending up on the wrong thread, but that sounds bad.

edit: Come to think of it, I bet that has to do with why the vote counts vary so wildly sometimes (I just "upvoted" this post from 889 to 4)

Yeah that's what I was wondering. I'm just going off what they said. I know they don't allow communities to be created except what they did themselves, so maybe they are taking on all the mod responsibilities?

I've noticed that I have to search for "!community@instance" first, then just "community", then finally it'll show up. Though even then there are a few communities I subscribed to that still aren't updating.

Apparently the 4 admins are having trouble dealing with the influx of new users, so they defederated from lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works because their open registration policies are giving them the most problems.

Lemmy.world still has all the content it pulled from beehaw before they defederated, but they won't sync anymore, so you won't see new beehaw updates, and they won't see any updates from lemmy.world

It’s definitely out-of-step with modern secular culture, and that’s a very good thing from the Christian perspective. We are God’s peculiar people (Titus 2:11-15).

Well at least I'll be in good company in Hell.

Reminds me of the time my dad met someone with a thick southern accent who said he was from LA - Lower Alabama

I think it's all just on the Fediverse together? I've heard you can view Lemmy communities from Mastodon, but I'm not a Mastodon user so I'm not sure how to see that.

Crudely drawn boomer comics incoming

Not sure, but it's interesting that from here the vote count on this post seems to change wildly once or twice per second. In the last minute I've seen it go as low as 5 and as high as 1.1K.
