With each day that passes, not enough white men are using their power to show up and stand up against these atrocities. They sit back silently.

Take note. The people with the most privilege to enact change should be standing up and they aren’t.

I imagine your view of the white male identity is informed by your own personal experiences. All the same, this is abuse of identity politics. Though I know it's not intentional, as misunderstanding of idpol is systemically propagandized.

Actual identity politics seeks out the white men who leverage their privilege for the benefit of others and champions them as examples. It seeks to show other white men how they can leverage their power in a positive fashion to accelerate a movement without coopting it and encourages them to do so. Most importantly, it demonstrates how white men are an important piece of a holistic, synergistic, all-or-nothing social force called the working class, which is exponentially empowered by and relies upon the diversity of all it's social identities. It - We - Cannot succeed unless all are included and considered, and when all are included and considered we cannot lose.

The disfigured and toxic identity politics promulgated by the democratic party is an individualized one that very intentionally begins and ends at the personal level. The history of class oppression and struggle is therefore replaced by a zero-sum history of identity oppression and struggle. Class resentment is swapped for personal resentments. There is no holistic synergy of identities. If society is bad it is because the privileged identity is bad, and revolution ie fixing all our social problems looks like simply replacing them with a different identity. It is ultimately compatible with racism, sexism, ageism, and classism. It is a misunderstanding of the nature of power and the history of social classes. It hurts us all.

Sorry for the infodump, I don't mean to sound overly critical I just write a lot.

all thier saying is"white people are as much as a victim as any minority" yeah no, POC and minorities, especially lgbtq+ suffer alot more than any white person would. its the wierd thing they also project into other things too. even amongst lgbtq+ white people are seen as "superior" to minorities.

Anything other than class warfare is a distraction. If you drive through the rustbelt, the South, or many other parts of the country, the average white man hasn't had it great compared to the 1%. We can argue about levels, but we've all been getting fucked by the boys at the top.

That is frankly false, and also my biggest gripe about the modern communist movement. Racism is basically America's caste system. If the caste system isn't destroyed either before or during the class warfare, then it will either reform after a revolution or prevent people from banding together to form a revolution in the first place.

Telling people that racism is a distraction to be ignored is a major mistake. If the modern communist movement wants their class revolution, then this would be far easier (or actually possible) in a America without racism. Hence, why bosses have been perpetuating Racism in America for hundreds of years.

Racism is an issue. It's also a symptom of the problem. It's used as a tool to pit the working class against each other.

Head on over to Beattyville, Kentucky or Ironton, Ohio and tell them how privileged they are because they're white, I'm sure that will get then on your side. Most Jobless drug addicts living in hovels. No chance for any prosperity but at least they're "privileged."

I guarantee if you reach out a hand and tell them you were left behind by this country too they'll be more receptive to marching with you.

It's a class war, always.

[–] reliv3@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Head over to Norfolk, Virginia and tell them that they are to ignore the years of racism that they experienced and fight a class war. This is the divide racism creates. If all sides can't come to terms, then asking them to join and fight a class war will be extremely difficult; and a big part of this is white america finally coming to terms with their privilege and actively destroying the caste system.

Hence, why the bosses have been actively demonizing DEI and CRT to maintain white america's denial of their privilege so that it continues to stoke the divide between the castes.

But you make a point, perspective is everything. Folks in middle america do not see their privilege as much because a lot of them live in towns full of other white people. This means they are largely of the same caste. Nevertheless, they are essentially being convinced that their grievances are due to dangerous people of color elsewhere in America.

Well then, carry on tilting at windmills and not getting a damn thing changed. For what it's worth, I am no communist, just a strong believer that ludicrous wealth inequality is the leading indicator in a society's dysfunction. If you feel the need, and actually believe, that almost 1/2 of the population of the US hasn't been fucked by the 1%ers as well, then I guess we'll just disagree. I wish you luck in your quest.
