If that quiet old man hadn't decided to try to cling to power despite no longer being fit to hold the office, we might not even be in this predicament.

Yeah, the “leftifts” that didn’t show up for those “reasons” are as bad as the magatards and bear the same responsibility. As a leftist myself (not in US though) I curse the absurdism of leftist politicians and electors and their puritanical behavior that can’t seem to do real politics.
It's quite paradoxical; right, an ideology about them-vs-us being such united and left, an ideology (at least theoretically) about camaradery being such divided

The democrats are the ultimate enablers and coconspirators of fascism. The republicans just carry the baton past the finish line. Marco Rubio was confirmed 99-0.

Why do you think things will get better. Not every dictator gets overthrown. Only around, 60%? Bad odds. Your cancer metaphor is apt because removing cancer often kills the patient.

MLK worked with a Southern Democrat who previously voted to keep lynching legal in Texas. After MLK's assassination, he shepherded the Civil Rights act through Congress and signed it into law as President. That same President went on to give the order to begin bombing Vietnam.
You see, you can still protest and make peaceful change with the mediocre and not fascist candidate. Good luck surviving with the fascist one. That’s what I’m arguing that the left is horrendous at pragmatism.
I'm not sure it would have helped. 2 Democrats haven't been elected into office back to back since before the Civil War.
