Trump supporters have gone down the path that I and many others believe is irredeemable. I wanted to ask the Americans here what they think will happen to trump supporters in a post trump America. Do you think there will be an offramp for them if so what do they need to do to make amends?

How would you like to see them held accountable (in an ideal world or a realistic one) from the politicians down to the average voter?

I think its fair to try the maga politicians and influencer that spreadmisinfo for treason but that might have to many negative consequences.

There will be negative consequences to anything you do. As far as how do you instil in a group of people the idea "well I fucked up pretty bad before, I'll try to do better" in a humane way, I do not know. Maybe some sort of community service requirements with attempts to force different groups to work together. The more closely people interact with others of different groups, the less hate there is. Usually. Everything is so subjective and relative. Who knows what will help in every situation.

We cannot simply leave things as they are is my only real point. Idk what we need to do, and I feel like mass punishment is unethical and ineffective. But they cannot be allowed to go on living their lives and never confront the fact that they willfully hurt so many.

That being said, some certainly knew exactly what they were doing (influencers and such) and should be held criminally liable.
