It says it creates clear mechanisms to declare property as ice free. But does it create a mechanism to enforce it? I didn’t see that in the article, but I wonder if the executive order expands on it.
There is no enforcement. The mayor said federal agents would not be arrested, and the city would basically just sue the federal government for breaking the law.
Enforcement is the line between a political disagreement and a civil war. As soon as a state tries to physically defend itself, the gloves are off. Trump is desperately trying to provoke that moment before midterms.
I agree completely. Which is why the governors have been firm with their words and lawsuits, but nothing else.
Honestly, I think Trump’s only goals right now is to get the Supreme Court to give the thumbs up to Trump sending in troops. Then he won’t need an excuse to send them in for midterms. And lower courts won’t be able to slow him down as they have to follow what the SC says.
Their strategy is always to play the victim. Never be the cause for a crisis, just the one resolving it.
But yeah, if nothing else, they'll just stick to the story that Chicago and Portland are bloody, war ravaged crime dens, and the military is there to help in spite of the democrats.
they'll be illegal aliens on that land if they go there
