I think it’s important to have the election results counted by people in front of witnesses, and allow recounts.

Only then, can one accuse protest voting as having any impact.

The problem is that for many, this observation comes unexpectedly and does not make sense. However many problems can be avoided if the USA uses the same practices as most other democracies
